CC-Type Amorphous Inductor Magnetic Core

CC-type amorphous inductor magnetic cores (CC-type amorphous cores) play an important role in power electronics and other fields due to their unique “C-type” structure and amorphous alloy composition.

Definition of an Inductor Magnetic Core

An inductor magnetic core is the core magnetically conductive component in an inductor. It is typically made of magnetic materials with high magnetic permeability and is wound inside or outside the coil to form the magnetic circuit of the inductor coil. In practical applications, inductor magnetic cores exhibit hysteresis and eddy-current losses. The choice of core material directly affects the efficiency, temperature rise, and frequency characteristics of the inductor.

Definition of CC-Type Amorphous Inductor Magnetic Core

A CC-type amorphous inductor magnetic core is an inductor core made from amorphous soft magnetic alloy.

Amorphous alloys possess extremely high electrical resistivity, high saturation magnetic flux density, high magnetic permeability, and extremely low hysteresis/eddy current losses. Compared with traditional crystalline soft magnetic materials (such as silicon steel), they offer superior high-frequency response and efficiency.

The CC-type amorphous inductor magnetic core features a “C-shaped” (or C-cut) structure, i.e., the core is rectangular or block-shaped with a cut section that leaves a window in the middle. This structure facilitates coil winding and assembly. By adjusting the size of the cut, the magnetic permeability can be flexibly tuned, and the ability to resist DC bias saturation is improved.

Characteristics of CC-Type Amorphous Inductor Magnetic Core

| Performance Advantages: The amorphous structure has no grain boundaries and high electrical resistivity, offering good resistance to DC bias saturation. Under rated low-frequency peak bias current or DC ampere-turns conditions, it is not easily saturated and can maintain high linear incremental permeability and inductance.

| Structural Advantages: The C-type structure facilitates coil winding and magnetic circuit installation, effectively reducing assembly difficulty and improving production efficiency. The C-type structure also helps close the magnetic circuit, thereby enhancing overall magnetic performance.

| Temperature Advantages: Wide temperature range: stable magnetic performance is maintained in both high-temperature and low-temperature environments, making it suitable for wide-temperature-range operating conditions.
