Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnet commercially available, which are made of iron, boron, and rare earth alloys such as neodymium-praseodymium. Neodymium ring magnets are commonly axially magnetized and used in holding application.
Neodymium ring magnets magnetized in diametrical pattern are ideal for rotational movements by providing force to a drive shaft. Diametric ring magnets are also used in rotor magnet assemblies.
To describe the size of a standard ring magnet, three dimensions are needed. They are outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), and thickness (THK). In addition, it’s important to note the magnetization direction because the cost of diametric ring magnets is significantly higher than that of axial ring magnets.
