FeCrCo magnets have properties similar to those of Alnico 5; however, unlike Alnico, FeCrCo magnets possess considerable ductility. FeCrCo is available in bars, rods, wires, and thin rolled strips.
Definition of FeCrCo Magnets

FeCrCo magnets are a new type of permanent magnetic material that emerged in the early 1970s. Their magnetic performance is comparable to that of aluminum-nickel-cobalt permanent magnets, with the ability to be magnetized with multiple poles and the advantage of being machinable, making them particularly suitable for manufacturing small permanent magnetic components with complex shape requirements.
Performance of FeCrCo Magnets
| FeCrCo magnets have a high Curie temperature (approximately Tc = 680°C) and can operate at temperatures up to 400°C. They exhibit a very small reversible temperature coefficient and good stability of magnetic performance at high temperatures, making them suitable for high-precision components that require great stability.

| FeCrCo magnets are easier to process than Alnico magnets. FeCrCo can undergo hot deformation, particularly through processes like wire drawing and tube drawing, which is an advantage that other permanent magnetic materials cannot match. Iron-chromium-cobalt alloys can be formed into bars, strips, wires, and tubes through hot and cold plastic deformation. They can also undergo cold punching, bending, drilling, and various cutting processes to create complex magnetic components, with a minimum diameter as small as 0.05 mm and a thickness of only 0.1 mm for the thinnest strips.
| FeCrCo is impact-resistant. Unlike magnetic materials such as neodymium-iron-boron, FeCrCo is less prone to brittleness and cracking.
| The coercivity (Hc) of FeCrCo typically ranges from 50 kA/m to 300 kA/m. The generated Hc value depends on the method of final heat treatment (such as the temperature). Well-processed FeCrCo generally does not require any corrosion coatings.

| If FeCrCo is not subjected to final heat treatment, its magnetic performance will be poor. FeCrCo is also susceptible to demagnetization or re-magnetization in different directions.
