Ferrite magnetic rings primarily include nickel-zinc ferrite rings and manganese-zinc ferrite rings. Ferrite multipole magnetic rings are commonly used as anti-interference components in electronic circuits, effectively suppressing high-frequency noise. From a manufacturing process perspective, there are ferrite multipole magnetic rings and segmented-ferrite multipole magnetic rings.
Definition of Ferrite Magnets

Ferrite magnets are permanent magnets composed primarily of raw materials such as SrO, BaO, and Fe2O3. Compared to other permanent magnets, ferrite magnets are hard and brittle with lower magnetic energy. However, they are resistant to demagnetization and corrosion, have a simple production process, and are inexpensive, which makes ferrite magnets the most produced type in the entire magnet industry and widely used in industrial production.
Definition of Multipole Magnetic Rings

Multipole magnetic rings are a type of ring-shaped permanent magnet material that forms multiple magnetic poles (such as 4-pole, 8-pole, or even more) by magnetizing the surface of the annular magnet, thus creating a uniform and alternating magnetic field. Unlike traditional dipole magnets, multipole magnetic rings feature a more refined magnetic field distribution, significantly enhancing the efficiency and stability of devices. For example, an 8-pole magnetic ring has its magnetic field direction cycling in a “N-S-N-S” pattern, forming coherent magnetic field lines.
Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings
Ferrite multipole magnetic rings are ring-shaped magnets made from ferrite materials (such as barium ferrite BaFe₁₂O₁₉ or strontium ferrite SrFe₁₂O₁₉), with multiple alternating N/S magnetic poles distributed on their inner and outer surfaces (usually 4-pole, 6-pole, 8-pole, etc.). The shape of the magnetic ring can be customized to be circular, elliptical, or square to meet different application needs.
Advantages of Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings
| High Mechanical Precision: Molded as a single piece, excellent concentricity (usually ≤0.1mm), suitable for high-precision motors.
| Uniform Magnetic Field: Continuous distribution of magnetic poles, stable magnetic field strength (Br), providing a uniform radial or axial magnetic field.
| Structural Stability: High temperature resistance (operating temperatures up to +250℃),
| Strong demagnetization resistance (coercive force Hc ≥200kA/m).
| Easy Installation: Integral design reduces assembly errors and enhances production efficiency.
Disadvantages of Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings
| High Manufacturing Costs: Requires specialized molds and isostatic pressing processes, which may be economically unfavorable for small batch production.
| Limited Number of Poles: When the number of poles is too high (e.g., >16 poles), the uniformity of magnetization may decrease.
Segmented-Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings
Segmented magnets are composed of multiple independent ferrite magnetic segments (usually arc-shaped or trapezoidal) combined into a ring shape using adhesive or mechanical fixation. Each magnetic segment can be magnetized individually, and an optimized assembly angle can achieve a multipole magnetic field.

Advantages of Segmented-Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings
| Cost Efficiency: Magnetic segments can be produced in a standardized manner with a low defect rate, suitable for medium and small batch orders.
| High Flexibility: The number of poles (e.g., non-conventional configurations such as 10-pole, 12-pole) and magnetic field waveform (e.g., sine wave, trapezoidal wave) can be freely adjusted.
| High Tolerance: Individual magnetic segments can be replaced if damaged, reducing maintenance costs.
Disadvantages of Segmented-Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings
| Lower Mechanical Precision: Gaps from assembly and segmentation may cause concentricity deviations (usually ≥0.3mm), affecting the uniformity of the motor air gap.
| Weaker Magnetic Field Strength: Discontinuities in the magnetic circuit lead to effective magnetic flux (Φ) being approximately 5%-10% lower than that of integrated magnetic rings.
| Reliability Risks: In long-term vibration or high-temperature environments, adhesives may degrade, causing magnetic segments to shift.
Applications
| Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings: High-precision servo motors, and fields with strict requirements for magnetic field uniformity and reliability.
| Segmented-Ferrite Multipole Magnetic Rings: Household appliance motors (e.g., air conditioning compressors), cost-sensitive drone motors, industrial pumps, and other scenarios that require flexible design.
