Introduction To Magnetic Assemblies

Magnetic assemblies are key hardware that enable efficient power output, safe and stable operation, and lightweight design, and are widely used in many fields.

Definition of Magnetic Assemblies

A magnetic assembly is a magnetic functional unit formed by combining permanent magnet materials (such as NdFeB, etc.) with magnetically conductive/non-magnetically conductive materials (such as stainless steel, soft magnetic materials, plastics, etc.) through precision machining, assembly, and magnetic circuit design. Its core purpose is to optimize the magnetic circuit, achieve maximum magnetic performance output, and provide specific functions that a single permanent magnet cannot achieve on its own.

Definition of Magnetic Assemblies

Composition of Magnetic Assemblies

| Core materials: Permanent magnet materials provide a stable and lasting magnetic field. The mainstream materials include:

NdFeB (Neodymium Iron Boron): Offers the best overall performance (high maximum energy product, high coercivity) and is the most widely used, but it is brittle and requires an outer housing.
SmCo (Samarium Cobalt): Has magnetic properties close to those of NdFeB but offers better temperature resistance, making it suitable for high-temperature environments.

| Auxiliary materials: These include magnetically conductive materials (such as magnetically conductive steel laminations) and structural materials (such as stainless steel housings).

Advantages of Magnetic Assemblies

| Reliability: Magnetic assemblies have a simple structure that reduces the number of mechanical failure points. Moreover, permanent magnets themselves are highly stable and can operate reliably over long periods in harsh environments such as high temperature, low temperature, and vacuum.

| Cost reduction: Through magnetic circuit optimization, the usage of expensive rare-earth magnet materials is reduced, lowering material costs. Optimizing the magnetic circuit can also simplify assembly, support automated production, improve production efficiency, and further reduce production costs.

| Compact design: Magnetic assemblies are small in size and light in weight, capable of delivering high power output in a small space. This supports the miniaturization and lightweight design of equipment, making them especially suitable for fields with strict space and weight requirements.

Applications of Magnetic Assemblies

| Magnetic separation: Gradient magnetic fields are used to separate magnetic particles from non-magnetic particles. This is widely applied in magnetic separators, magnetic bars, magnetic plates, and iron-removing machines in industries such as mining, food, and plastics, for recovering ferrous materials or removing iron impurities from non-magnetic materials.

| Industrial motors: Magnetic assemblies are the core of motor rotors and stators, used to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. They are widely applied in industrial motors, providing high torque density and fast dynamic response.

| Magnetic attraction: Magnetic assemblies (such as magnetic base/pot magnets) use magnetic attraction force to attract, hold, or handle steel products. They are widely used in scenarios such as machining, welding, and logistics handling.
