N35 Magnet Meaning
N35 magnet is one of the commonest neodymium magnet grades. N represents Neodymium and 35 mean the maximum energy is between 33-35 MGOe. N35 neodymium magnet has a remanence (Br) of 11.7-12.2 kGs. Sintered neodymium magnets are the most powerful permanent magnet commercially available. They are made of iron, boron, and rare earth alloys such as praseodymium-neodymium (PrNd). Though N35 magnet is the most basic magnet grade, it is widely used in holding applications more than any other neodymium magnet grade.
The theoretical maximum working temperature of N35 neodymium magnets is 80 degrees. It also depends on L/D ratio of the magnet. If your application is at room temperature, the magnet strength of N35 may be sufficient. Most customers consider N35 neodymium magnets as an alternative name for strong magnet in comparison with Alnico and ferrite (ceramic) magnet.

Applications and magnetic strength of N35 neodymium magnets
N35 neodymium magnet comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. A lot of rectangular neodymium magnets and neodymium disc magnets are made of N35 magnet material. They are commonly found in both industrial and consumer goods. Examples are neodymium pot magnets and rubber coated magnets, where N35 neodymium magnets are placed within or upon a steel housing or plate. It saves the material cost by using lower-cost N35 grade (instead of higher grade like N42 magnet), while also achieving the magnetic strength or holding force enough for a particular application.
For application engineers, magnetic flux density can be a requirement when they are choosing a magnet grade. In layman terms, magnetic flux density is also known as magnetic field strength or surface gauss. You can refer to magnetic field calculator of kjmagnetics. This calculator provides users a reference based on an uncoated and unchamfered magnet. The real value is normally around 10% lower than theoretical one.
