Grate Magnets are strategically positioned within the product stream to enable direct contact with free-flowing products. These Grate Magnets typically consist of one-inch diameter magnetic tubes arranged on a two-inch center frame. The dimensions of length and width can be customized to meet specific requirements, usually in two-inch increments.
Grate Magnets provide exceptional protection against metal contamination. As products pass over the magnetic tubes, any captured metal contaminants are pushed beneath the tube’s surface, ensuring they remain isolated from the product flow. This prevents any potential recontamination of the clean material.
Maintenance involves the removal of the Grate Magnet for simple cleaning of the magnetic tubes. It’s important to note that while introducing a Grate Magnet into the product flow offers great contamination protection, it does reduce the flow-through area by fifty percent. Therefore, it’s crucial to choose the right-sized Grate Magnets that do not hinder the product flow.
These Grate Magnets are designed using advanced magnetic engineering techniques to provide comprehensive separation of ferrous metals from products with gravity fall processing applications. Tengye’s innovative designs optimize equipment protection, product purity, and capture efficiency. For optimal protection, install them in critical areas where capture is feasible and most needed, and where removal for cleaning is practical.
Grates perform best with dry, free-flowing products that do not bridge between the magnetic tubes (Tengye also offers alternative magnetic designs for challenging applications). Ensure that the selected Magnetic Grate is at least twice the cross-sectional area of the incoming spout opening and discharge. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to reach out to Tengye for expert engineering assistance.
